If thereโs one item that is always on a Personal Shopping list, itโs jeans.
Most new clients are in search of the perfect jeans. It can be a minefield with so many different shapes and styles available. So many different names to get your head around before even thinking about rise and wash.
I could probably write a dozen posts on jeans so the focus of this weekโs newsletter is going to be a simple guide to the names of styles.
1. Palazzo Jeans
This is an ultra wide style with lots of fabric. I would wear this style with a more fitted top to balance the volume of fabric. If you are petite, be careful that the amount of fabric doesnโt overwhelm your frame. Consider wearing a heel to lengthen the leg.

2. Wide Leg Jeans
This style is not as wide as the Palazzo but is wide from the hips all the way down to the hem. It is really flattering on all shapes. choose high waisted if you want to elongate your legs. If you have an apple body shape, a mid rise is going to work best.

3. Barrel/Horseshoe/Carrot Jeans
This style has been trending in the last year. I think itโs a shape that you either love or hate! The right footwear is really important in my opinion. I think they look great with a loafer, a pointed toe ankle boot, a kitten heel or a slim trainer. I wouldnโt pair them with a chunky boot or trainer as it just makes the overall look too bulky.

4. Boyfriend
As the name suggests, this style is meant to look like you have borrowed your boyfriendโs jeans, they give a baggy, casual look, often rolled up. Great with trainers and flats or with a heel if rolled up and some ankle showing.

5. Flared/Bootcut Jeans
This style is flattering on all body shapes and looks especially good with a pointed heel to elongate the leg even further. Choose a high, mid or low rise depending whether you have a long or short torso.

6. Straight Leg Jeans
This is the most classic style of jeans that most of us probably owned as our first pair. Think of Leviโs 501s. A straight leg is a great option if you are looking to move away from skinny jeans but not quite ready to take the plunge to a wide leg.

7. Skinny Jeans
Iโm sure this style is one youโre all aware of, most of us have had a pair in our wardrobe at some time. They are the most common style I remove when doing wardrobe edits as other styles are just so much more flattering. They are very much a love/hate item!
Iโm not going to add a where to buy as if you love them, Iโm sure you have a pair in your wardrobe already!
I really hope that you have found this post helpful, please get in touch if you have any style queries you would like answering in future posts.
Have a great day!
