Easy Elevated Basics

How a few easy additions can make the simplest of outfits standout

If you love simplicity and ease in an outfit, it probably doesn’t get more basic than jeans and a plain t-shirt or tank top. On warmer days swap the jeans for a pair of denim shorts or linen trousers and to be honest, apart from the odd days when I wear dresses, this is how you will find me for the most of Summer.

Left alone a plain t shirt can feel pretty uninspiring and boring but if you see it as a blank canvas to let some accessories steal the show, then you really can create an outfit that makes you look put together and effortlessly stylish.

Accessories are also an easy way to give an update and allow an element of trend to an outfit.

This year resin and chunky gold bangles are particularly popular.

Beaded and long necklaces are also trending and the perfect way to add interest to those wardrobe basics. Natural coloured beads, pops of red and turquoise all look great to add a focus point to a plain top.
